Meet the Tahoe Icemen Staff

Head Coach and GM/ Mickey Lang

Mickey Lang will bring his undying passion, knowledge and experience to the Tahoe Icemen.  Mickey began playing ice hockey in his hometown of Reno, NV. He played Youth Hockey in Northern California and Reno until the age of 17. In 2004 he moved to New York to continue his career with the NY Apple Core Junior program. Mickey was a member of the highly regarded, New York Applecore team from 2004-2007 and was later selected to the all-century team. He then went on to play 4 years at Manhattanville College, where he received Division III 1st Team All-American honors as well as a candidate for the National Player of the Year during his 2010 season.

After earning his degree from Manhattanville College in 2011, Mickey went on to play 4 years of professional ice hockey. He played in the CHL, ECHL and the AHL. In 2014, Mickey was named ECHL’s Most Valuable Player.  After this incredible achievement, and only through an impeccable work ethic and sought after perseverance, Mickey signed an AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies for the 2014-15 season.

During Mickey’s career, each summer was spent working for one of the nation’s most premiere Hockey Schools, Erik Nates Euro Hockey. Mickey has had the opportunity to learn and develop from some of hockey’s greatest mentors. He looks forward to pass along his knowledge and passion for hockey to the many different players that have the same desire and love for the game. He hopes to re-vamp the Junior program and help each player achieve success at the collegiate level.
